This is the poster to the popular horror movie Friday the 13th. Friday the 13th is about a group of young adults set up tent near the abandoned summer camp where a series of gruesome murders are said to have taken place back in 1980. The perpetrator was a grieving mother, driven insane by the drowning of her child, Jason, whom she believed was neglected by the camp counselors. As legend has it, the last survivor of the attacks beheaded the woman. But then Jason came back, and he becomes a killer furled on vengeance, wielding crossbows, swords, axes and other sharp instruments or tools he can find. The legend proves horribly true, as these campers quickly discover. Six months later, the brother of one of those campers distributes posters of his missing sister. The police believe she took off with her boyfriend; but he knows better. The brother crosses paths with an uptight young rich guy who is having his girlfriend and friends over at his parents' cabin. The brother ends up at the cabin himself just before his sister's attacker sets upon them all.

This film conforms to the cliches of horror movies a lot during the film, it has the traditional adult with a child's mentality as the killer. It also has the one of the teenagers on the run from the killer, in the woods, but then they trip over a branch of some kind and the killer catches them and gives them the axe. This film is set in the woods by so no one can hear them scream when they are being attacked. The films killer is a man whom wears a threatening and scary hockey mask, at the beginning the killer starts killing with a old torn sack over his head but during the movie one of his victims pulls off his cover before he kills them so he has to look around for a new mask and he finds an old disused hockey mask.

Research and Planning 9/20: I am aware that you have missed a few lessons and yoiur mark reflects this Alex. You need to catch up by commenting on what we expect from the horror and action genres and you need to analyse some film openings you can upload from youtube. Some good analysis, but to be working towards a B grade at the least you need to evidence a wider range of research. A good start.
